    Yard Sale Oddities?

Published by Pam Kessler | 210 words. · About 2 minutes to read this article. - 21 Comments

What's the oddest thing you ever bought at a yard sale?

A chipped Garfield coffee mug? A can of Billy Beer? An upholstered chair with a questionable smell (you know what I mean, no one wants me to type "pee" in my post, do they)?

Yeah, well I bought a pair of wild turkey legs at a yard sale last weekend.

    Dried wild turkey legs.

    Trump that!

I thought my son would think they were fun. Turns out they make good back scratchers. Not that I am touching them with a ten foot pole, but that is what I am told.

Besides, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I'm sure there is some way I can work them in to the fall decor.

So, do tell. What is the weirdest thing you have ever bought?

If you are looking for me this weekend, I will be at the Country Living Fair here in Columbus (Please do not rob my house, my twenty Dobermans will be home alone and hungry). I will be tweeting and instagraming and facebooking and all that stuff while I'm there.

And I will be sure to let you know if wild turkey legs are all the rage at the Fair this year! I just have a feeling about this one.

      Hi,
I just stumbled upon your blog via Common Ground Be Inspired because I love your headboard over the mantel idea. It is gorgeous! Then I found this post with the turkey legs and I am afraid to read other posts now! Just kidding...what an incredibly odd find!
I love your pinterest board titled Jungue--great ideas you have collected. I have a banana box almost identical to one you have pinned only we transformed ours into a coffee table. You can see it on my post titled 'Fall Is For Me'.
Thanks for a good laugh this afternoon with the turkey legs.

Yard sales have been a bit boring but Church rummage sales are HUGE here north of Chicago. I always seem to find the biggest, clunkiest, most awkward thing possible. Heavy metal trays, peony rings, lawn Easter eggs, 36 perfect blue diner plates, a ginormous candlelabra...I find it in the first minute and then I have to lug it around thru the sale.

They sell turkey feet as dog treats at a pet store I frequent. Right next to the pig ears.

You lucky gal! I wish I was able to get to that fair. We have a great local flea this weekend and I'm finally going to get to go. I'm like going through withdrawal over here...

You win! Not sure I would have had the courage to bring those home. 🙂

It was super meeting you at the Country Living Fair. LOVED meeting other Ohio bloggers & I hope we can connect IRL again. 🙂

If you get up this way be sure to contact me so we can have coffee or something.
