Today is Christmas Porch Decor day!!!
It's almost as exciting as Christmas morning, but with no wrapping paper to clean up afterward.
This is the day when I get together with a great group of bloggers and we all show you what we've done with our porches for the holiday season!
Everything from big porches to small porches. From patios to screened porches.
We've got it all.
So make sure to stick around to the end so you can visit some of the other "porches" for decorating ideas.
Nostalgic Plaid Christmas Porch Decor
As for my Christmas porch decorations, this year I wanted to create a nostalgic look.
A nod to simpler, more innocent times.
So much about 2020 sucks (can you say sucks nowadays?), so I wanted to just slow down and truly savor every moment of decorating my porch this year.
And use some of my very favorite things that remind me of carefree winter days of childhood.
I also wanted to do something that wasn't so OVER THE TOP that it was impossible to recreate on your own porch.
Don't have a large front porch?
I purposefully didn't decorate every single inch of my porch this year to show you it's not needed.
I kept most things close to the front door, with a good 6-8 feet of porch left buck naked to the right.
You can pick bits and pieces of my porch decor to add to just about any sized porch, even a stoop.
Just the skis and some greenery around your front door would look cute!
On a tight budget?
Use what you already have. No need to buy anything new, just "shop" your house to find stuff you can repurpose for the porch.
Your garage or shed is a good place to start.
Hello, I have a shovel on my porch!

Using Greens On Your Porch
Fresh or faux, greenery on your porch is a great idea!
I made the Christmas wreath myself and have a detailed tutorial on it HERE - Homemade Winter Wreath With Fresh Evergreens.
And the three crocks with pine boughs and little trees are so EASY to make.
I simply trimmed my pots of dead fall chrysanthemums from my fall porch down to dirt level and just stabbed the greenery into the dirt in the pots.
You can read more about it in my How To Make Winter Porch Pots post.
It really was a FUN porch to decorate!
OK, enough with all the plaid nostalgia over here, let's get on to the rest of the porches in the tour!

A beautiful space, as always. I love your use-what-you have approach, especially in 2020. But as soon as possible, I’m hunting for a snow shovel for next year’s porch!
joan
I love all the plaid! Do you know where you got the plaid pillows on your rocking chairs?
Cindy
Pam, your porch is super cute festive! I love the classic plaid and my goodness, that is the cutest snow shovel I've ever seen!
Chica and Jo
That is the perfect amount of plaid and greenery. We love it so much!
Cheryl
The door color and the snow shovel color ❤️❤️❤️
Love everything about your porch as usual Pam.
Melinda J Tucker
Just what Christmas is supposed to look like not pink or purple thanks for this great idea !!
Paula@SweetPea
Your Christmas porch looks fabulous, Pam! I know your neighbors love to see how you decorate it each season. I'm a sucker for red plaid, so of course I loved everything. After seeing your picnic basket, I need to remember that I can decorate with it for a season besides summer!

Wonderful. This is a great example of Less is More. Just beautiful!
Sara
I'm so jealous of all your fresh greens! I almost sent my boys on a foraging expedition but remembered one gets a rash and decided against it, LOL. Love all your vintage touches and the plaid ties it all together in such a fun cherry retro way!
Jane Windham
Love the plaid pillows in your rockers! I have some black rockers on our back porch and I may have to copy you! Love the old snow shovel. Living in SC, I have never owned or used one of those!
Sally Nygren
Luv all if your ideas! Your porch looks amazing. Do your crocks crack when outside during the winter months? I live in Michigan and would hate to have the cold temps ruin my crocks.
Carolyn Dinger
AS always, looks beautiful and amazing.
Denise
Looks great, like greens in crocks along with wreath. Have co-worker who spray painted her dead geranium plant in hanging basket & added berry pics & ornament ones to decor. So pretty. Your house is nicely decor w/o clutter. Merry Christmas.
Pam Kessler
I bet the geraniums look cute! I may have to try that next year!
Mirjam
Love the look! Going back in time, brings back memories. I have the plaid and old picnic basket too. Display them in the summer next to my 57 chevy at shows.
Pam Kessler
Thanks! I love to use my thermoses and picnic baskets as much as I can!

This is beautiful, Pam! You had me at plaid, but I love everything about your welcoming porch! The snow shovel is so cute!
Pam Kessler
Thanks, Linda! I wanted something classic this year and what's more classic than plaid for Christmas!
