Where To Score Free Christmas Greens

Published by Pam Kessler | 202 words. · About 2 minutes to read this article. - 30 Comments

You are not going to believe where you can find FREE pine boughs for your Christmas decorating.

    What is better than FREE?

Nothing. Nothing is better than free!

Do you remember the wooden box I bought a few weeks ago?

I had wanted to put a little tree in it for some porch decor.

But when I went to Home Depot and priced their little live trees, I feinted. Sure, for your main tree in your house they are very well priced, but for an extra tree for the porch that I had no intention of watering very often I just didn't want to make the investment.

After I revived myself, I quickly modified my plan.

I noticed some tree branches laying beside the trash can, next to where they cut the bottoms off the Christmas trees. I asked the cashier about them and she said I could have them.

She bagged up the whole pile for me. For free!!!

I just put a bucket in my wooden box, filled it with water and arranged my free greenery. Voila I had a touch of green for the front door.

And so much cheaper than my original idea of putting a little tree in it.

I even had enough left over to fill some other containers.

    Thank you Home Depot!

Yay for the little wooden box! It's like the story of the little engine that could. It happened, you decorated him! andrea@townandprairie

Nice arrangement! I can't imagine an expensive tree looking any more beautiful than your free greenery. Lowe's gives free discarded branches also...I mix them in with my fake ones. Best, Vicki

The branches look so natural in your box. Such a natural look, which I am really in to. Love you sled, I found one, but couldn't fit it into my budget. Hope you will consider sharing this over at Sunday's Best. Sharing is a good thing.

LOOKS like WINTER. Looks like Christmas. Just the perfect touch with that rustic box for your porch. And the FREE part is pretty darn nice, too. I agree the price of all trees is out of this world this year. ENJOY the holiday season. Take care.

I love the look of the box so many different things you will be able to do with it! I'm so happy to read you didn't pay anything, that's sort of my motto. 😀

I agree, nothing is better!! The branches look like they were made to go in that box. I also love the sled, I am wanting one to hang skates on. Have a great day!
