Lucite Green is one of the 2015 Spring Pantone Colors.
Normally, I don't care a whole lot about what's in and what's out. I have a deer head hanging in my living room and wood tone cabinets in my kitchen for gosh sake. But Lucite Green grabbed my attention.
Why? I think it's just a hop, skip and a jump away from Jadeite Green.
And Mamma likes her jadeite.
Color that is. When I went to find a piece of actual Fire-King Jadeite for this photo, all I could come up with is this psuedo-Jadeite wannabe.
You can tell it's not "real" Jadeite because the pitcher has the jadeite color on the outside and the inside is white. Real Fire-King Jadeite is the same color throughout the glass.
But the point is that I love that color, whether it's called Jadeite Green or Lucite Green or God's Gift Of Color Green!
So much so that I picked Lucite Green for my header logo color (up there where it says House Of Hawthornes in the funky 60's type font).
Another of the Spring 2015 Pantone Colors that I like is Strawberry Ice, which is similar to the color of the crabapple blossoms.
So I guess I'm just one trendy girl now!
Next thing you know I'll be planking my walls and installing barn doors in my living room!
Are you a Jadeite lover? Of the color or the glassware? Or both?
rue
Planking walls and installing a barn door.... LOVE it! LOL
I love both of those colors, but like you, I'm not a trend follower. I have one piece of Jadeite and it's a coffee canister. Darn thing cost me a freakin' fortune, but I had to have it.
Btw, sorry about the mouse incident. I found a dead one in front of my fridge the other morning. Neither dog is confessing to the kill though.

i do not care whether you call it Jadeite Green or Lucite Green... I LOVE it. I'm also crazy about Fire King. Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Beautiful photos!! The green pitcher makes a perfect vase for the lovely crabapple blossoms. My only piece of Jadeite is my grandmother's bacon grease jar. I did have it sitting on a shelf, but recently started actually putting my bacon grease it in.

Pure prettiness, Pam! Love those colors together!

I'm a fan of both the color and the glassware. I'm getting fairly nostalgic in my old age, so it speaks to me of home, family, and rich memories. The crab apple blossoms match my tree in my front yard, which is in bloom right now. I live in a development with a homeowners' association that planted the same trees in front of every house. However, we somehow got this gorgeous deep pink, while everyone else got white. I love looking down our street and seeing this mass of white, with a punch of gorgeous rich pink!

Love your photography! I also love jadeite but sadly only have one piece so far in my "collection." The two colors really do look fabulous together!

Lucite Green and Strawberry Ice? I'm going to get some strawberries and put them in a jadeite bowl. And forbid anybody to eat them! It's the least I can do for the sake of Pantone!
Happy Mother's Day, Pam!

Not to worry. My fabulous new bathroom is green, from the ceiling down to its beadboard walls.
