You only need to put the wax on one side. It will melt through the fabric so it will coat both sides at once.

Just a suggestion for the best application of the beeswax is to iron your fabric flat before you start. That way you won't end up with spots without beeswax (or with less beeswax) like I did. Thank you for the great idea. I think I will make some of these for gifts.
