I found this bear planter at the antique store yesterday and I was oddly drawn to him.
"Come sit on my log with me, Pam. I promise not to eat you."
I use vintage planters in odd ways in different areas of my house.
I think they're fun to throw stuff in. Pencils, q-tips, notepads, cell phone cords, etc.
They give a room that little bit of unexpected quirkiness. And isn't that what we all strive for in our home decor? Quirkiness? No?
But does Mr. Bear cross some kitschy line with you? Have I jumped the shark, so to say, with buying this guy?
What are your thoughts?
I have put up a little survey over on the sidebar toward the bottom. I'd love you to weigh in (and you don't even have to get on a scale!).

I think he is too cute and would have picked him up in a split second. (This from someone who also picked up a vintage pink and green fish planter, so, yeah... I love the kitschy!)

He's adorable! and I agree, so many fun uses for these cuties!

Always drawn to planters and wall pockets - who needed that many planters anyway? They are so cute.

Love the bear. I use old planters in the bathroom to hold make-up and hair stuff. they are pretty and useful.

He's cute! I'm hoping to use some vintage planters in my craft space when it's finished!

LOL Love the answer choices in the survey!
He is adorable, and I think would look sweet with succulents planted in him. I know, you don't use your planters as planters, but go wild! Try it!

Awww, he is very cute -- I think he just wants his tummy scratched. I'd say he's a keeper!

I always buy with my heart...well except for pretty china plates, I have far too many of those that no one wants to use. But I do buy with my heart in most all thrift areas, so I'd say buy what you love and skip what you merely like.

I'm all for quirky!!

He is cute and he's got personality. You would have regretted it if you had not bought him.

Your post made me think of a deer planter I bought a while back, I need to get it out of the closet!

I vote and I think he's cute!
Using them for something else
is a great repurpose idea.
