Kathy, I live in So Cal and you are right. The price of pumpkins, like those, are ridiculous and we can't have them out for very long because they become a big, squishy, rotted mess. So Pam, we live vicariously through you and your adorable pumpkin decor.

With keeping safe. If it brings you personal joy then it's all worth it. Also passers by often take more note than one thinks and it gives them pleasure to see the care in their neighborhood. Yes! I agree- the bluish-green of the ornamental cabbage is the bridge between the aqua door and the green glider. Outstanding!

You got a deal! It's not like there's a shortage so I don't know why they're so high priced. Maybe they also post pictures of houses with 50 to 60 Jack O'lanterns arranged all over the front porch.

You noticed! I actually looked around in my stash for a thermos that would go with the more subdued colors and couldn't find one. Most of mine are red and black plaid, orange or blue. It feels naked without a thermos or two!

Oddly enough, I bought those pumpkin/gourds for $5 each at the grocery store. For some reason the grocery stores don't know how to price those gourds! It's like they have them priced for making pies or something? But then the other day I took my son to a cute little farm market to buy a typical orange carving pumpkin and I about fell over when a medium sized pumpkin was $14.
