I'm always slow to go to the doctor. I don't feel I want to "bother" them with something minor, so unless I've broken something or feel like I'm dying, I tend to wait too long.
And then I get to the doctor and they're all like why didn't you come in sooner?
And I'm all like Hey, I was just trying to help you out Doc!
Well, the day before Easter I started to feel wonky and knew something was coming on. By the day after Easter I couldn't stay out of bed.
I'd get up, get dressed and lay right back down (with wet hair, so that always makes for a comfy nap).
After that it all went downhill and I was lucky to get my teeth brushed and a pair of clean underwear each day.
So, on Friday I finally drug myself to the doctors office.
And it appears that I have pneumonia. The big P.
So now I am on antibiotics and cough medicines and something I shoot up my nose.
I can tell you that the cough medicine made me feel well enough this morning to hunt out one of my vintage planters to store my pneumonia stuff in.
So if I give one rat's butt about having cute medicine, then I must be on the upswing, right?
OK, I'm rolling over and going back to sleep. I promise I'll blog about something more interesting the phlegm next time.

Kathy
You crack me up! Feel better soon!
Pam
Thanks, Kathy! I feel a tad bit better today.
chris aka monkey
oh hun rest and rest and rest some more do as much fluid as you can stand and rest some more xx
Pam
I'm resting. I'm resting so much that every night my husband comes home from work and I'm in the same place as when he left in the morning. I have managed to do a few loads of laundry here and there. Haven't put them away, but it felt like an accomplishment.
Fonda Rush
Of course you would get out a lovely vintage ceramic planter to put your medication in. I would expect no less! Take care of yourself, because we NEED you to brighten our days! The least you could do between naps is write down notes of stuff you think about when you're sick and share them when you feel better. Miss you! {but that's okay, because I need you to feel better!}
Pam
Oh my! Not sure I could publish some of the things I think about between naps because it really doesn't make a lot of sense. I do spend a lot of time staring at the tv which isn't on, but I don't make the effort to pick up the remote to turn it on either 🙂
Judy Clark
So sorry you are not feeling well! But, sounds like you are better than you were. Hope you get well real soon!
Judy
Pam
Thanks, Judy! It's getting better little by little. I can sit up and type, so that's a plus.
Irene
Aw man I hope you feel better soon! Rest is the best medicine. But love the vintage planter medicine keeper! ??? and you're NEVER inconveniencing a doctor! Peace of mind is best before things get out of hand.
Pam
Thanks Irene. I was feeling a tad bit better this morning. Baby steps, I guess.
Linda @ Itsy Bits And Pieces
OH no, Pam! There is a lot of influenza and pneumonia going around here, too. You get some rest and some pampering...I hope you feel better SOON! xoxoxo
Pam
Thanks, Linda! I thought I was free and clear from all that stuff since it's spring and all.
Ann C
I laughed so hard at so many of your comments that I started coughing. Get better soon, but make sure you are well over it or you can relapse. Anyway my dad used to.
Pam
I was planning on feeling much better after the antibiotics kicked in, but from what I'm reading, it's not that fast 🙁
Patty Soriano
Definitely take care of yourself. When I had pneumonia I was off work for a month, and still went back too early. But I lost 11 pounds and fit into a really cute leather skirt ! :-/ tee hee
Pam
I never thought of it as a weight loss plan, but that does give a positive spin to it 🙂
Vickie
I'm glad you went to the doctor, Pam. That's some pretty serious stuff! You need to rest up and regain your strength, and it can take quite a while. I was home all last week with Influenza A and it really took the wind out of my sails. Fisherman's Friend cough drops are old school, but they stopped my round the clock coughing. On the plus side, we'll have washboard abs from all that coughing when bikini season rolls around.
Take care,
Vickie
Pam
We can compare ab photos! You post yours first 🙂
Emme
Pam feel better soon. As much as we all enjoy your blogs, your health is more important. There is a lot of nasty stuff going around and my husband for 2 weeks was ill and didn't get to a doctor either but yours is serious. So, get plenty of rest and have sweet dreams of thrifting.
Pam
I'm dreaming of all the estate sales I missed on Friday 🙂 But better to be felling better for yard sale season 🙂
Mary W Ferguson
Pneumonia is nothing to play around with. The last time I had it, I ended up in the hospital for 7 days, my kidney's shut down and I was full of infection and could barely breath. So please take care of yourself. It is nothing to mess around with. I now have COPD, bronchitis and asthma all due to the pneumonia.
Hope you are feeling better and please finish all of your medicine.
Prayers your way for a speedy recovery.
Mary
Pam
Thanks, Mary. I am feeling a tad bit better today.
Patty
Honey I keep telling people this on my E-mail. NO MENTHOL!!!! My Ear, Nose & Throat doctor told me this. He said Menthol makes mucus. When I stopped using menthol cough drops, I stopped coughing. I hope you feel better soon.
Pam
I'll avoid menthol. I don't like the taste of it anyhow!
Nancy Nesbitt
You sound like my mother-in-law, may she rest in peace. She firmly believed you don't go to the doctor unless you need stitches, have a broken bone, or are ready to deliver the baby. She smoked most of her life and died at age 89....
Pam
I guess I'm in good company then if she stayed away from the doctor AND lived to 89 🙂
Susan
Hope you feel better very soon! Take all your medicine and crawl back to bed! We will all be here when you get back!
Pam
Thank you Susan! I'm feeling a tad bit better today.
Sandy
Pam, so glad you gave in and went to the doctor. Pneumonia is nothing to play around with.
And you still have your decorating act together with the planter/medicine holder. Take it easy and hope you feel better soon. Miss your wit !
Pam
Yeah, my wit pretty much flew out the window the other day 🙂 Hoping to get that back this week!
Susie
I hope you keep feeling better every day. By the way, that's a cute planter/medicine holder.
Pam
Thanks Susie! I feel a tad bit better today and am hoping tomorrow will be an improvement too!
