I think that burlap would soften the look of two big galvanzied pans with handles that I plan to use. I had a neighbor whose (almost) complete front yard was ablaze with pansies and violas and it looked fabulous. I never noticed that they got leggy. Good post, thank you!

Have been using baskets with the garbage bag liner for years as planters. If you find a half basket with a handle they look great attached to a fence. I fill mine with trailing plants like petunias.
