Is pansylicious a word? It should be.
I know, I know. We haven't exactly passed the spring equinox or St Patrick's Day yet, but they were selling them at Home Depot. So, I figure if they are selling them, I will buy them.
I ran home, potted them up and put them in my iron hanging planter on my front porch.
I know that pansies come in all sorts of colors, but I tend to stick with the light blue and bright yellow.
I always think I'll venture outside my comfort zone and pick a burgundy or something wild and crazy like that. But I always come home with the blues and yellows. They just shout spring to me.
Does anyone else need to stick forks in your plants, so the birds don't make nests in them?
I spent the better part of the summer last year with bird poop running down the wall beside my front door, because they insisted on making a nest in this planter. Did you know that baby birds don't leave the nest to do their dirty work?
Decided to nip it in the bud this year. Or poke them in the butt.

WOW, you're early 🙂
I love the color combo! No, I didn't buy the bird cage. Inquiring about shop space. We shall see what will come in the future. My home is bursting with vintage and believe me. I need to Do Something.
Have a great week,

Pansies are one of my very favorite flowers. Yours look so cute in their little pots!

Oh, I want pansies now! I've never heard of the fork thing...good thinking.

I love the holder the pansies are in--never heard of the fork thing. I am always trying to draw in birds. This year we were smart enough to clean out the hoses the old owners had so maybe we will have more birds this year. My favorite color pansies is white--I know I am pathetic. Then I like the very pale yellow ones and sometimes you can find a really pale pink. I guess I am so pale I go for pale colored flowers:)

Pansylicious should definately be a word. There are some of my favorites. And I never knew about the fork idea...

Cool idea with the forks, I like how you matched the colors. I love pansies and violas, I go to Home Depot just to walk by and smell the sweet fragrance they emit. I need to get myself some more. Mine are rather scruffy looking, I planted them in Fall and they are still rather stunted from cold weather. A fresh batch would do me good!

Those are the 2 colors I choose every time, too! The combination of colors can't be beat.
I've never had a problem with birds nesting in my flower pots, but squirrels are another story! They pull out my flowers and "plant" peanuts that the crazy neighbors feed them. I would try the fork thing, but they would probably pull those out too and use them to eat my apples. Good luck!
