You all know I like a deal. Cheap is my middle name after all.
So how about an affordable alternative to the popular metal rotating 3 tier vintage hardware bins which are pretty much a staple in modern country, farmhouse and industrial home decor?
Heck, I've seen them used in craft rooms, kitchens, dining rooms. Just about anywhere you want to organize something.
You know what I'm talking about, right? They look like this one I found at Wayfair:
Cost: $331.99
Mine: $19.99 (OK, less than that because I had a 20% off coupon)
Savings: $312.00!!!
What? No way?
Where'd you get that, Pam?
Well, I was out shopping with my husband at Harbor Freight the other day.
I know what you're thinking. "You went to an actual store, rather than a thrift store? What is wrong with you?"
I do venture to non-thrift stores. Occasionally. If I'm forced to.
Anyhow, in case you haven't been there before, they have inexpensive hammers, motorcycle lifts and miter saws. Basically a tool store. For instance, I bought my steel stamps at Harbor Freight that I used in my Silverware Stamping Tutorial.
So I'm just walking along trying to not be BORED OUT OF MY MIND and I run across this cool rotating parts bin.
Now, I must warn you. It's in a box. And you have to put it together. As in many screws. Many, many screws.
But $312.00 buys me a lot of patience.
Here's the link to the bin from their online site - Revolving Parts Tray
I just had to share my glee in finding a cool deal outside of a thrift store 🙂

Hi there! I am(, just wondering if they still have this item and if it’s the same item at Harbor Freight and around the same price? I know you’re probably thinking, how would I know? I tried to look it up to no avail! Please let me know what you figure out!
‘:thanks so so much!

I also found a huge steal to store sequins and beads from Harbor Freight tools...It's a plastic case with 24 smaller clear boxes within....Perfect and clear so you can see all of the sequin colors and sizes...It was only 4.99!!! Woohoo, bought a bunch of them!!

thank you!! I saw something like this at Hobby Lobby in the spring, but never got back there when metal decor was 50% off and now they no longer have them. I googled to figure out what on earth it's called, and saw your post, so I picked one up from Harbor Freight for $15 after sale and coupon!!! You saved the day!
Pam
You are welcome!!! I love that thing. I'm trying to figure out how I can use it in my Christmas decor in the kitchen this year.

I was JUST googleing for this kind of bin and found your picture and this post.
And would you believe that I JUST looked through a Valpac with a coupon for Harbor Freights? Meant to be! Ordered! Thanks for the tip!

I just ordered one, and got 20% off with a coupon from Retailmenot.com. With the coupon, shipping and tax, mine was $23 and change. I can't decide if it will go into my kitchen or craft room. I could end up buying another. This would be a cool piece in a bathroom for cosmetics and such too. Awesome tip, thank you! I've never been in there, but now I'll need to take a look sometime.
Pam
That is the biggest decision - where to put it 🙂

Hi,
I love the idea and never thought of Harbor Freight for this item. I've seen much smaller ones in Home Goods and the craft store for more than $20.00. Now I'm glad that I didn't get one. I'll be going to Harbor Freight in the next couple of weeks to get the big one. I don't mind putting things together, I like doing that kind of thing anyway.
About the :PIN" button, I don't mind at all. It's easier to pin things that catch my eye that way.
Thanks,
Alice G

Hope you enjoy it. BTW, one of my friends bought one and spray painted it a pretty vintage green color and has her gardening seed packets, plant tags and such in it. There's no end to what you can do with them 🙂

My husband is picking one up for me. I wonder how well all my cake decorating supplies might fit.

What??!!! I'm heading to Harbor Freight right away. LOVE it. And I like your Pin It button -- I've considered adding one to my blog too, but I cannot find one that doesn't screw up the functionality of other plug-ins.

You had me at roto-bin. I have 2 big ones, and then this small one. Love, love, love them. I use them in my craft room. Check them out.
