While looking over my recent blog posts, I realized that I haven't had a good "Look what the heck I found at a yard sale and you didn't!" post lately. Time to remedy that little snafu (I'm using the 60's definition of snafu, not the current one that is an acronym with some bad words in it).
The pink McCoy planter was found at a local antique dealer's yard sale. She always has some fun stuff at reasonable prices.
And the pink '55 Thunderbird was a steal for $.75 at a yard sale run by a kid. OK, I really don't need a '55 Thunderbird, but he looked bored out of his mind and I felt sorry for him.
What about this flower frog? Not pink, but I bet it has held some pink flowers at some point in its life.
Enough of the pretties.
I bought these two sturdy glass chemistry bottles (with glass stoppers) and a tiny little beaker at a yard sale last weekend.
They might make great Halloween decorations (mad scientist theme or witches' potions), plus I just like the industrial look of these type of bottles.
Strainer. Box. What can I say about them, that hasn't already been said a million times.
Really, what can I say about them?
I've spent at least fifteen minutes trying to think of something funky to say about them and I'm coming up with nothing!
I went to a really weird church sale a few weekends ago. The sale was weird, not the church. When I walked in they handed me a plastic grocery bag and you could stuff all you wanted to into the bag and only pay $2.00.
Woo-hoo!
Oh, wait. The room was filled with crappola. Just out and out strange things. Half used candles that were so old they had lost their color. Really dusty silk flowers. Partially used embroidery floss.
I did scrounge through an entire table of Christmas stuff and managed to stuff my bag with that. Lots of the old style tree lights, some fun Santas and reindeer picks, a plastic window candle.
Look, I didn't say it was fantastic stuff, but when a lady hands you a bag and says it's only $2.00, you feel a little silly not buying anything at all from them.

You always find the best stuff! The last church sale I went to did the same thing with the bag and I filled it with antique linens, they had tons of the beautiful stuff and no one else seemed interested so i had a ball 🙂

The church sales here in Michigan charge about $10.00 a bag, and they never have anything good,either.
